action at the adidas Outdoor Championships at North Carolina State
University’s Paul Derr Track . . .
800 sprint medley relay: New York City’s Blue Track Club wound
up the winner despite finishing second to Lightning Bolt Track Club
of St. Petersburg, Fla.
The Floridians finished first with a time of 1:30.39, but were disqualified.
Meet rules state that all entries must be high school teams, and
Lighting Bolt TC is an all-star squad..
Lightning Bolt fielded a team of Arsenio Corbin, Rashad Etheridge,
Kevin Marion
and Dermillo Wise, who ran together for the first time in Raleigh.
The disqualification moved the New Yorkers into first place. Their
time was 1:31.67. Lawrence North High School of Indianapolis wound
up second in 1:31.95.
