Winslow NJ 3:12.17
4x400 relay: A relay team with two sets of twins? As improbable
as it seems, that’s what Winslow Township High School of Atco,
N.J., fielded in the fast section ofthis event.
The quartet consisted of Antraye Miles, Dante Freeman, Duan
Freeman and Anthony Miles.
And they won in 3:12.17, beating Motor City Track Club of Detroit
and Willingboro, N.J. Motor City was second with 3:14.74 and Willingboro
finished third in 3:15.04.
“I didn’t come around in the first leg like we expected
to,”
said Dante Freeman. “I had to bring it down and give us the
lead and that was it.”
Dante said this is the first year the improbable foursome has
teamed up. “We’ve just run together this season,”
he said. “We all want another [championship] ring. We’ll
be back next year.
The Mileses and Freemans aren’t done yet. They’ll run
for the Dennis Mitchell Track Club this summer. Mitchell, an Olympic
gold medalist in the 4x100, attended Winslow Township when it was
known as Edgewood Regional High.
Antraye Miles may be the most athletically-gifted of the four. A
guard on the high school basketball team, he’s already scored
over 1500 career points.
