Elite Miles

A year ago, high school history was set in the men's elite mile when Alan Webb ran 3:59.86, first ever sub-4:00 mile indoors by a high school boy and a precursor to Webb shattering Jim Ryun's outdoor record later at the Prefontaine Classic. No such prep fireworks are on tap this year, but both 2001 winners return to defend their New Balance titles: Amy Rudolph and Leonard Mucheru. Other top contenders are:

Men - Clay Schwabe, John Honerkamp, and Christian Hesch.

Women - Gina Procaccio, Janet Trujillo, and Kathy Butler.
