William Penn PA anchor Christina Smith could barely speak at the
end of the thrilling 4x200 final, in which Smith won a fierce struggle
over New Rochelle NY and Robeson NY. "I have to run the 4x400,"
she whispered. That's right -- two relay anchors back to back. The
seeded section of the 4x400 was the very next race after the 4x200
final, and Smith anchored both. But Penn never contended in the
4x400 (finishing 5th overall), and Boys and Girls had Stacey
Livingston to play Smith's role of come-from-behind anchor.
