National cross country champion Saratoga Springs NY transferred
its talent to the indoor oval to win a surprisingly easy victory
in 12:13.90. Saratoga took the lead at the outset and led throughout,
although it was close until Nicole Blood put away A. P. Randolph
NY anchor Selena Sappleton midway through the anchor leg to win
by 23 seconds.

A.P. Randolph moved into second as the 1600-meter
anchor leg started. Eighth grader Nicole Blood (932)
broke open the race in lap 4 with a surge that Selena Sappleton
(841), recently transferred from Murry Bergtraum HS, could
not match.
Saratoga coach Art Kranick was
pleased as he gave out splits to the winning squad.
