Eleanor Roosevelt MD girls didn't have long to get over the hurt
of losing the 4x400 to Boys and Girls NY.
An hour and 20 minutes later, they took to the Armory oval again
in the 4x200 with three of the same runners. It was an easy wire-to-wire
win for the nation's leading squad with very balanced splits: Kaprice
Williams 25.0, Ramona Modeste 24.4, Tiandra Ponteen 24.5, and Renee
Clarke 25.0. If they were tired, it only showed in their time of
1:38.92, which was 0.72 off their season best, but more than 2 seconds
better than runnerup DeWitt Clinton NY 1:41.05.
A half hour later the Eleanor Roosevelt boys, lived up to their
US#1 ranking with a 1:28.31 win, moving them up from three spots
to US#5 all time. They had to be fast to cover Camden 1:28.45, the
seventh fastest team ever. Roosevelt splits were balanced as usual:
Sammie Sesay 22.0, Joshua Cotton 21.9, Joshua Allen 22.1, and Kyle
Postell 22.3.
