Boys - Girls
The Oklahoma All-Stars took home two wins in the 8th
Annual Arkansas-Oklahoma High School All-Stars CC Meet held at Agri
Park
at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Oklahoma won the Girls 4K race by a convincing 79-136 behind Jessie
Gordon of Plainview who defended her 2000 title with a 23 second
win in
14:25. Katya Kostetskaya of Jonesboro, AR bettered her time of last
week
on the same course in the Class 5A State Meet with a 14:48. Kostetskaya
put on a furious sprint the last 300m to overcome Kimbri Lettkeman
of
Watonga, OK who was timed in 14:49.
The Sooner State Boys also took home a win but Arkansas hogged
5 of the
Top 7 places as Chase Feltner of Arkansas Class 5A champion Russellville
took the individual win in 15:44. Feltner, AR Class 5A champ, laid
back
the first two miles and made a move the third mile to put distance
between himself and second place finisher Andrew Tower of Stillwater
who
crossed in 15:48.01 to nip Eric Brock of Russellville, AR who ran
a PR
for 5K in 15:48.71.
Boys
The lead pack ran tightly packed through the first mile in 4:59 and
passed the 2 Mile
in an estimated 10:12 (5:13). Eventual winner Chase Feltner broke
the race open in the third
mile with a 5:03 and headed home for a 4 second win over Andrew Tower
who was able
to nip the fast-charging Eric Brock. Even though the AR team took
five of the top seven places with
Travis Feltner, Jake Conley and Tyler Harlan joining in, OK hammered
nine of the next ten spots
to take a close 103-107 team win.
