Juanita Broaddus 1:25.9 300 yards
Shawn Cavanaugh, N.Allegheny 8:58.2 in the west, Ian Gottesfeld,

Ray Bobrownicki, Westtown, 6-8
Dan Michael, North Penn, 1:59.0

TSTCA @ University of Pittsburgh 1/30
The 3000 just got even more crowded at the top as past state cross
champion Shawn Cavanaugh continued to round into top form with an 8:58.2
solo effort at the University of Pittsburgh 1/30. And West Allegheny's
Christine Taranto simply posted the fastest 3000 of the season in PA, a
10:24.7 to pull ahead of Footlocker Finalist Jessica Cickay of Council
Rock in the state rankings. Depending on who chooses the mile and who
opts for the 3000, it looks as if both titles on both sides are going to
be close. And Shaler's Sam Bair became the first PA guy under 4:20 in
the mile, clocking a 4:19 flat.

Slippery Rock - 2/1
Greensburg-Salem's Akeem Vance posted his third elite 55 Dash of the
season with a 6.57. Tyler Fedeli, Altoona, is the leading high jumper
this indoor season. He continued his tune-up for the end of season meets
with a 6-6 effort.

DVGTCA 2/1 @ Lehigh - Girls
Penn Wood's Danielle Rodgers keeps setting the bar higher, and with a
2:15.9 US Top 5 800 on Friday night at Lehigh University, she is ahead
of her performances of prior years. Juanita Broadduss continues to pick
an event and win an event, this time going 1:25.9 for 300 yards, and
helping Danielle Eaton, Great Valley (1:28.2) and Kim Malcolm, Villa
Maria (1:29.1) to great times. Council Rock and Wissahickon ran the two
fastest PA DMR's, in 12:38.5 and 12:39.5 respectively behind the mile
legs of their stars, Jessica Cickay and Erin Franklin. William Penn was
third in 12:46.3. Julia Pudlin, Baldwin, in her second solo effort
following an eight-month hiatus, was second again in a solid mile of
5:17.2, finishing behind the kick of St. Hubert's Amy Kelly and her
5:13.0. Penn's 4x400 took the top spot in 4:04.5. Nazareth Academy went
4:08.9. Academy Park's Precious George cranked out another 8.5 in the 55
Hurdles, while Great Valley's Jen Williams won the HJ with a 5-4 leap.

TFCAGP Division I 2/2 @ Lehigh
Dan Michael, North Penn, becomes only the second PA athlete under two
minutes in the 800, going a solid 1:59.0. With Shawn Cavanaugh's return
to form in the west, and Mark Mullelly's sub-9:00 earlier in the east,
the 3000 picture got more clouded as Henderson sophomore Ian Gottesfeld
went 8:59.5 Saturday at the TFCAGP Division I meet. In the Long Jump,
Pennsbury's Al Gregory leapt 22-2-1/4.

TFCAGP Division II 2/2 @ Lehigh
Two great Triple Jumps, a PA #2 High Jump, and a meet record 60 Hurdles
highlighted the Division II meet @ Lehigh. Great Valley's Galen Rivers
continued his consistent season on the heels of Norristown's Mike
Whitehead. River's 45-7.50 was his third best of the season. James
Womack of Girard College entered the state elite hunt with a 44-9.50.
Ray Bobrownicki, Westtown, High Jumped 6-8, Tie PA#2. And Steve Ayers of
Phoenixville set a meet record in the Trials of the 60 Hurdles, going
8.1. He took the finals with an 8.2.
