the Year of the Shot Put
by Don Rich, PennTrackXC
It's the year of the Shot Put in the region, as five guys threw
over 52'
at the Glen Mill Invitational, led by Delaware's Carlton Rose of
William
Penn HS at 57-8. Glen Mills' Omain Gullette was just three inches
back
at 57-5. Gullette's toss leads Conestoga's Steve Meyers by three
inches
in PA. Those two performances are currently US #'s 3 & 4. Bridgeton
(NJ)"s Anthony Wiilter was third at 54-4. Gullette's teammate
Quentin
Watts threw 52-10, as did Rose's teammate William Brown. North Penn
took
both the 4x400 (3:28.61) and 4x800 (8:14.88). Winslow (NJ) was second
in
the 4x400 at 3:29.11, followed by Glen Mills at 3:29.71. Willingboro
(NJ)'s Mike Morrison high jumped 6-10, which would be a new US#3.
