5. Hunterdon Central
6. Toms River North
7. CBA
8. Don Bosco Prep

What a weekend for cross country! Lots of surprises -
lots of drama.

Note - with the large amounts of results that I
compiled, I felt that a top 15 would be in order since
it could be accurately measured.

Haddonfield - I have finally been converted. They are
the number 1 team in the state - regardless of the
outcome of the Group Meet. If Stiles had not dropped
out at the 2.5 mile mark, Haddonfield would have
easily been the Group II champ - not to mention have
the fastest team avg. of the day. Bonnette made a
huge improvement with his 16:13 performance.

Old Bridge - Almost lost the Group IV title to a
resurgent Cherokee squad. They certainly did not run
what they are capable of - making the MOC an
interesting scenario. If they want to win the MOC
crown they must run as a tight pack.

Cherokee - everyone counted them out and then they
just bounced right back. The biggest surprise for the
Chiefs was the performance of Mueller. His 3rd place
finish puts him back in the game. It will be
interesting to watch the front three from Haddonfield
fight it out with Cherokee.

Mainland - Group III winner and a nice tight pack.
Solid front running by Hughes. A solid squad.

Hunterdon Central - had an off day but was still able
to take 3rd in the Group IV race. Needs to see a big
improvement from their 5th man or the MOC will be a
huge debacle.

TRN - bad day. We all have them. They will be back
in the mix at MOC. Count on it (that is why they are
still ahead of CBA b/c I feel that when they are 100%
they can roll with the best of them. We all got a
taste of that at sectional's and the shore conference
meet)

CBA - a nice turnaround. When it looked like they
were going to out for good they come right back with a
PAR A title. Won with solid pack running.

Don Bosco - Got nipped right at the wire but still ran
a solid race.

Holmdel - took advantage of Stiles dropping out to
walk away with the upset in Group II. Segal looked
very impressive and should contend for the MOC
individual crown.

Mt. Olive - 2nd behind the powerful Mainland squad.
Solid running, especially from Jerry Whitaker who ran 16:44.
