Eleanor Roosevelt leads the nation in both 4x200 and 4x400 relays,
but their fastest runner, Tiandra Ponteen, had a sore leg tonight,
causing her to scratch from the 300 meter dash. Ponteen ran in the
relays as Roosevelt held off PG County rival Largo in the 4x200
but fell in the 4x400, both in meet record time.

False start decision brings chorus of boos
Most unpopular decision of the night was the starter's disqualification
of C.H. Flowers soph Tiffany Nesfeld, heavy favorite in the 55 meter
hurdles. The crowd's voice started as a low groan and then grew
to full throated boos when Nesfeld (below in the prelims)
was pulled from the line after what was called a false start. The
starter called the runners up from the set position without firing
the gun, but he ruled that "there was movement" by Nesfeld.
The meet referee said the starter's decision is discretionary and
not subject to appeal.
