women's pole vault team in the country?
Certainly in high school, and how many college teams could match
their performance at the Southern Section Masters May 25: sr
Chelsea Johnson 13-3, soph Monica Pacas 12-3, and soph Kacie
Lundgren 12-3. And Johnson's season best is 13-6. They are coached
by Chelsea's dad, Jan Johnson, an Olympic silver medalist, who
also coached last year's California champion and US high school
record holder Shayla Ballantine. All three Atascadero girls
advanced in Friday's prelims to make up one third of the finals,
where Chelsea Johnson and Lundgren were 1-2. |
