Warren Stauffer Invitational

9/29/01, Hollydale Park, South Gate, CA

Races for Senior, Junior, Sophomore and Freshman. Team winners decided by overall top 5 regardless of race they were in.

Boys:
Jordan Horn, Alta Loma flies to 15:19 win in senior race. His time is the fastest of the day. The Marina boys put 3 under 16:00 and hit an average of 16:07 for the team title.

Girls:
Marina team races to 19:47 average, the only team under 20:00 on the day. Maria Blazquez, Roosevelt records fastest time of the day in 18:23 win in the senior race.

Golden West Invitational

9/29/01, Visalia, 3 miles 150 yards

Boys:
Hector Figueroa Corcoran, 16:00.2 flies to #3 all time on the course. Madera Boys race to huge 93 point victory behind Michael Barrera's 16:04.3 runner up finish.

Girls:
Heather Hansen Madera, 18:54.2 roars to 5 second course record and a 1:15 margin of victory. Madera backs up Hansen with 47-56 win over Clovis.

Road Runner Classic

9/29/01, La Mirada Regional Park, Ca, 3 miles

Boys:
Tony Martinez, St. John Bosco, 15:38 defeats Juan Escalante Katella, 15:41 in a tight duel. Martinez's teammate Randy Hills charges home 3rd in 15:50 as their St. John Bosco team defeat Katella 48-53

Girls:
Maryann Pynchon, Edison, 18:06 dominates girls race by 31 seconds. Behind her the Esperanza girls take control as Shalice Pugmire(2nd), Alison Costello (3rd) and Joy Wilk(5th) pour in to lead to Esperanza to a powerful 29 point total.

Bell-Jeff Invitational

9/29/01, Griffith Park, CA, < 3.0 miles

Boys:
Manuel Ruiz, Monroe, Division 1 race scorches 14:41 best time of the day. However the best boys team of the day comes out of the Division 4 race as Mcfarland boys put up an eyepopping display. Giovani Perezchica leads the horde, finishing 1st in 14:47 and leading 5 more of his teammates under 15:45. Their team time was an impressive 1:16:22 a whopping 2:49 ahead of the next best team.

Girls
Laura Meyers, Marantha, 17:41 is the fastest girl. Torrance girls have fastest time of the day, racing to a team time of 1:34:22 nearly two minutes ahead of the next fastest girls squad.

Yucaipa Invitational

9/29/01, Yucaipa High School, Hilly 3miles, temp's in the 100's

Boys:
Division 1: Mike Poe of Etiwanda reeled off an impressive 15:20 despite scorching temperatures. Rancho Cucamonga places two in top 15 for a 95 point team win.
Division 2: Kalan from Barstow cruises to 7 second win (15:51) and leads team to an impressive 33 point win.
Division 3: Estancia boys race to a 100 point domination with their total of 28 points on the strength of 1,2 punch by Humberto Rojas and Mike Casillas.

Girls:
Division 1: Whitney Patton, Ayala, 19:00 beats out Vivien Aspden. Aspden's Yucaipa teammates return the favor edging Patton and her Ayala team 54-56.
Division 2: Christina Jimenez, Granite Hills, races to an 18:37 winning by nearly a minute and a half. Her time is the fastest of the day by 23 seconds. Orange Lutheran emerges victorious in the team battle with 68 points.
Division 3: Diane Rosette 19:29 and her Estancia team with 37 points.
