Rules of Competition

Sanction - The relays are sanctioned by the National Federation of High School Athletic Associations.

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES - APRIL 20, 2001

 

DO NOT BRING STARTING BLOCKS. RELAYS WILL FURNISH THEM.

Eligibility - All athletes participating in the meet must be certified eligible by their high school principals. An eligibility list must accompany entry forms.

Classification - There is no classification for the events

Points - Eight places will be counted and the scoring shall be as follows: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1

Shot Put/Discus Events - Shot put and Discus will be furnished by the relays. Athletes may warm up with their own equipment, but will be required to throw the shot and/or discus provided by the relays.

SPECIAL REGULATIONS - ATTENTION

FOLLOW THE SCHEDULE - Starters in every event must be at the bullpen ready to run ten minutes before the event.

Pole Vault/High Jump - The starting height in these events will be determined after all entries are received. Pole-Vaulters must be ready to jump within two (2) minutes of their name being called and within 1.5 minutes in the high jump or be penalized by the forfeiture of one trial at that height.

Rules - Rules set up by the Ohio High School Athletic Association shall apply to all rulings.

Out-of-State Schools must adhere to the regulations where there is a difference between the standards set up by the Ohio High School Athletic Association

Restriction - A participant may compete in a maximum of four (4) track and field events. The four events may be any combination of track and field, including relays. The foregoing regulation applies to one and two-day meets without exception. Only two (2) entries per event per team are allowed. Only one (1) entry per relay per team is allowed.

Uniform Rule - The track and field uniform consists of a school issued jersey and shorts, which are not objectionable, and shoes. Any other visible apparel must be a single color and worn under the uniform jersey and shorts. In relay races each team member shall wear the same color and design of school uniform. When other apparel is worn under the school uniform, it shall be of the same color for all teammates choosing to wear them.
