This is the 7th list of the 2001 indoor season, and it has a historic tinge.  Three of the 12 new US leaders also set new US all time records.  Nine of the new leaders came from three big meets: the New Balance Games at the New York Armory, the National HS Invitational at the U. of Arkansas, and the Princeton Relays at Princeton NJ..

We now have 1,893 performances from 186 meets in the database that beat the 2001 indoor cutoffs for the DyeStat Elite top 100 national rankings.   The rankings have 1,414 performances (only an athlete's best performance in an event is ranked).

This update marks a change in presenting handheld times, which are now listed after FAT (fully automatic timing) times for races up to 400 meters.  If a runner's best time is handheld and there is a FAT time available, the FAT time is also listed.  (Today's listings correct a problem in the Jan 16 lists where the good FAT time was not being shown.)

To get performances included in the DyeStat Elite follow the procedures on the DyeStat web page, How to Get Ranked.

Listings give Event, Mark, Performance Notes, Athlete name-class-school, Meet date-name-state and position finished, and Meeet Notes.  Abbreviations in notes:   h=handheld, c=converted to Mile or 2Mile equivalent, and p=time from preliminary round.  Handheld times are adjusted to FAT equivalents by adding 0.24 for races up to 200 meters and 0.14 for 300 and 400 meters.  Handheld times are listed after FAT times.  If an athlete whose best time is handheld also has a qualifying FAT time, it is also listed.  Races at 1600 and 3200 meters are converted to Mile and 2Mile equivalents by adding the National Federation standard adjustment of 1.6 seconds for 1600 meters and 3.4 seconds for 3200 meters.
