DyeStat 2001 Outdoor

June 9, 2001 at American River JC, Sacramento CA

42nd Golden West Invitational

This meet was founded in the 1930s as the first national post-season high school championship meet.  It retains its all-finals, invitation-only format, with nine of the best athletes in each event toeing the mark in a one-day competition.  Athletes are brought in early for an "Olympic Village" experience on the campus of Sacramento State University.  Athletes interested in competing are invited to fill out the athlete information form on the official GWI web site.

2000 GWI: Heather Hennessey 2:08.84 and Jonathan Johnson 1:49.60 made their mark on the national scene with stirring come from behind victories in the 800 meter races.
