It was a race without an obvious favorite and it played out that way, with Seton McAndrews running back to his form in the New York public schools championship 2 weeks ago (he was second in the New York Federation meet a week ago to Charles Millieon.). Brian McGovern CT, highest ranking NE returnee from 1999, was a steady 2nd, only 1 second behind McAndrews.
