Rockford MI boys move up to 2nd, Peninsula CA girls to 7th; Mountain View,
Rockford, Saratoga still #1
Notes by John Dye on the new rankings:
Boys US
Rockford MI moved up from 4th to 2nd after winning the MI state
meet. Novi MI dropped from 7 to 9, and Danbury CT unseated York
Elmhurst IL in 10th place.
Girls US
Peninsula CA jumped to 7th on its strong sectional performance, 2nd
best at Mt. SAC to the legendary Irvine team of the early 1980s.
Marcus TX moved into the top 10. The two prior top 10 CA teams --
San Lorenzo Valley and Montgomery Santa Rosa -- dropped out.
Boys Regions
Northeast - Christian Brothers Academy NJ jumped over Cherokee NJ after beating
them in the NJ All Group Meet of Champions. Good Counsel MD
replaced Bethlehem NY in the top 5.
South - Lockhart TX replaced Atlantic FL, which was beaten in the FL state
meet.
Midwest - Ohio champion St. Xavier OH replaced Carmel IN in the top 5.
Girls Regions
Northeast - State meet action moved N. Kingston RI and Bronxville NY into the
top 5.
South - Jefferson Forest VA moved into the all Texas and Virginia top 5.
Midwest - Indiana champion Valparaiso replaced Colerain Cincinnati OH in
5th place.
