CB East, Council Rock, Coatesville, Mount Lebanon and Cumberland Valley were thinking of each other as the key competitors for the upcoming State Championships. Then along came Cedar Cliff at the District 3 Championships in Hershey last Saturday with a 28 second spread and a 40 point win to place themselves as favorites this Saturday.

Karl Dusen of CB East, Shawn Cavanaugh of Mt. Lebanon, Dan Mazzacco of Baldwin, Eamon Brazanus of Great Valley, Dave Atkiss of North Penn, and Pat Bringardner of Gettysburg, are among the ones to watch in AAA.

In the girls race, it's Lauren Bricker of Hempfield, Stephanie Madia of North Allegheny, Paige Miller of Wissahickon, and Katie Ewart of Upper Dublin, in the driver's seat for a state title.

North Allegheny girls look to repeat as team champions. Wissahickon could have something to say about that.

The AA races are no less exciting. Especially with rising power Wyomissing girls who could have won the AAA race in District 4. East Pennsboro soph Ryan Blood will make the boys AA race a challenge for Eisenhower's Andy Weilacher, and Wyomissing senior, Joel Moceri.
