The Klim Poll 10/30by Jake Klim I am basing this poll off of large meet performances; everyone knows that #20 may beat #14 then lose to #16 but we have to realize what we think may happen when all three and then some meet on a course that neither has ever run before. This poll is as accurate as what I think the outcome of a race may be when the top 20 race at the same time on the same course. For in the sport of cross country, again as everyone knows, courses are different, runners have bad/good days and weather conditions are pending. Another thing that one must remember is that invitationals are more important than duel meets. In a duel meet for example Joe Jerk may beat Chris Chump by 20 seconds but in an invitational, a meet that "counts" in big team score, Chump may beat Jerk by 10 seconds and gain a higher ranking. Commentary Not too much
change in the Poll after a long week of League/Conference meets.
Congratulations to Palazola, Piche, Habtemichael, Marotta, among others
who won individual honors at their respected meets. Speaking about Josh
Palazola, I had the chance to interview him about his goals and
accomplishments for the current season. The senior Fisherman is eyeing
Princeton as his college choice where he would join former teammate
Tristan Colangelo, stating that they "work well together." When asked
about Footlocker Regionals and Nationals, Palazola replied "no one is
guaranteed a spot" and that he is taking one day at a time because it is
a long important season, but in the back of his mind there stands a giant
black and white referee. For all those of you who think Gloucester is out
of the running for another state championship title, it appears that the
team has been in worse condition at this point in the season and still
come through with the 1st place trophy. Whether his team is in
shape or not Palazola agrees that he is. Josh
Palazola's PRs: 800m - 1:55 1200m (DMR
split) - 3:04 Mile - 4:16 2 Mile - 9:18

Whitinsville-Christian Commentary Three new names added to the Poll including Drew
Wiechnicki from Monument Mountain Regional whom I overlooked in the
previous week, and Brian Finn who bested Joe Soul and won the Small School
Division at the Hockomock Invitational (South Shore Principles). OA
strutted their legs at their home course in Easton and had a 2, 3 finish
from Adam Paicos and Steve Sontoro. And congrats to Chris Grange who won
the Merrimack Valley Conference Championships. Good Luck to
All - Jake Klim
