Julia Lassiter-Lucas (Charlotte Myers Park) established herself as a likely FootLocker South Regional contender with a meet record 17:38.1 on Charlotte's McAlpine Park course, winning the Invitational division in the Wendy's meet. Her time is the third best ever on the course by a North Carolina runner.
Following Lassiter-Lucas were Keira Carlstrom (Oakton, VA) 18:11.1, and Ginger Wheeler (Mount Tabor, NC) 18:29.1.
The boys invitational was won by Matt Maline (Oakton, VA) in 15:08.7, with sophomore Matt Debole (Mount Tabor, NC) 2nd in 15:30.2. Graham Lovett (Summerville, SC) was 3rd in 15:34.3.
Chapel Hill's boys and Watauga's girls won the invitational division. Byrnes won the boys open division and Asheville Reynolds the girls. The 3-A division was won by Westminster, GA (boys) and Asheville TC Roberson (girls).
