Don Sage 4:00.29! 
At the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene OR, Donald Sage trailed the world class field most of the way, but rallied to finish 9th in 4:00.29, just behind Gabe Jennings and about 9 seconds behind winner William Chirchir (Kenya) 3:51.84.  It was the fastest HS mile of the season, eclipsing Alan Webb's 4:03.33 at the Herbster Classic.   Splits were reported as 58.8, 1:57.8, 2:59.2.

In the women's 400 meters, all time US HS record holder Monique Henderson finished fourth in 51.78.   The San Diego junior ran 50.74 in the California State Meet.
