Mighty Mite from MichiganRockford MI jr Dathan Ritzenhein demolished a super field in the long anticipated Boys 2-Mile race Friday night at FLO. Some were expecting a sub-8:40 race for the second time in history or, even, a challenge to Jeff Nelson's all-time record of 8:36.3. But after 4 laps together, it was all Ritz. Thirteen hours later, Ritz and Don Sage sparred again as anchors for Rockford and York in the 4-Mile relay, with Sage winning the split (4:08 to 4:12), but Rockford winning the war. Ritz finishes 2-Mile victory Start of 2-Mile Race No separation after one lap Logsdon-Ritz-Sage-Schneider start 5th lap at 4:30 mark Ritz all alone starting the bell lap "I'm tired," is all Ritz can say to Ian Brooks Ritz, Sage shake hands before running anchor legs of 4-Mile
