BOYS

Boys: Don Sage tries for 4:00 mile (with Eric Heinonen as a 1-lap rabbit) and gets 4:04.2h; pulls three others along under 4:10 (Josh Spiker 4:06.3, Noel Paulson 4:07.0, and Mason Ward 4:07.2).   Heinonen dropped out after a 60-second turn to the finish line (409 meters), and Sage rushed to the lead.  He finished 2 laps in 2:00 and three laps in 3:01.  Now, the crowd was on its feet cheering loudly for a 4:00 minute mile.  Sage tried, but couldn't produce one of his patented sub-60 kicks.  "I thought I was kicking hard, but I just didn't have enough," Sage said afterward.

Eric Logsdon toys with strong 3200 field in 8:47.8h; pulls three others under 9:00 (Matt Tegenkamp 8:52.9, Steve Padgett 8:54.7, and Tim Keller 8:56.3).  Logsdon stayed with a tight pack through 4 laps.  Then he quickly drew away and was unchallenged the rest of the way.  "I didn't want to lead through the mile, but no one else did, Logsdon said afterward."  His splits: 67, 63, 66, 67, 65, 67, 67, 65.

Dwight Thomas sweeps sprints in 10.32 and 20.5h.

Otis Harris wins 400 in 46.70 as Fernanda Blakely is DQ'd again after dominating win for running inside his lane (it also happened after a 45.99 win in the Mobile Meet of Champions).

Jonathan Johnson, whose stretch kick didn't quite catch Adam Davis in the Texas State Meet, roared to a 1:49.60 win in the 800 over fellow Texan Nick Devenport 1:50.47 and Marcelo Dunning 1:51.07.

Jake Garlick wins 110H in 13.71, but Trevor Jones blitzes last 2 hurdles just as he did in the California State Meet to win 300H in 36.3h (Willy Amos 36.4h and Garlick 36.5h).

Oklahoman Alfred Neale wins battle of 7-footers with a 7-2 clearance.

Sage Thames tops his Texas championship PV level with a 17-7 win.

Allen Simms gets a TJ PR by almost a foot at 52-10.5 and adds a 24-6.25 LJ double.

Jeff Chakouian 67-6.5.

Jason Caldwell 208-5 DT.

Josh McCaughey 229-7 HT.  Josh Carlson  217-11 JT.  Detailed Boys results
