OK-Red Conference -
a Rockford Rout

Rockford MI jr Dathan Ritzenhein broke the Michigan state record for 1600 meters with a 4:05.9 victory in the OK-Red Conference at Grandville MI.  (The old record was 4:07.19 by Earl Jones in 1982).  Ritzenhein followed up later in the meet with a 9:17.2 victory in the 3200 meters.  Both were conference records.

Rockford was very busy in both boys and girls events. Other highlights:

  • Rockford girls 4x800 9:35
  • Rockford jr Linsey Blaisdell won the 1600 in 5:18.4
  • Rockford sr Nora Colligan won the 800 in 2:17.6
  • Rockford sr Emily Blakeslee won the 3200 in a meet record time of 10:54.8
  • Rockford girls 4x400 relay won in 4:05.3
  • Rockford boys 4x800 relay won in 7:57 MR.

Rockford's boys, undefeated in the regular season, won the conference championship as well.
