IA -- Iowa City West sr Jeni Frudden has broken the course record every meet but one this fall and she did it again by 14 seconds at Noelridge Park, Cedar Rapids, running 10:53 2m in the Mississippi Valley division meet.
IL -- Deerfield sr Erika Odlaug took her coach's advice and took it easy winning the CSL North conference meet at Harms Wood IL in 14:07 2.5 miles by 79 seconds.
KS -- Weekly Roundup by Tony Bozarth - Kansas' #1 ranked teams, Lawrence boys and Shawnee Mission Northwest girls, won the state's toughest conference, the Sunflower League. Lawrence edged #2 Shawnee Mission Northwest, 45-49, behind the 1-2 finish of Justin McClain 16:15 and Justin Riley 16:18. SM Northwest girls packed their five scorers inside of 15 seconds to win with 58 points. Details

OR -- Lava Bear Inv - Klamath Union OR jr Lauren Jesperson 15:23 5k won in course record time over a strong field of Pacific Northwest standouts: Alec Wall, Grant OR, 2003, 15:34; Jacob Gomez, Klamath Union OR, 2002 15:36; Jesse Fayant, Mead WA, 2002, 15:47; Fred Spofford, Sunset OR, 2003 15:54; Joaquin Chapa, Grant OR, 2003, 15:57; Patrick Chessar, Mead WA, 2002, 15:59. PA -- William Tennent Inv - Jamestown VA invades PA and Bryce Ruiz ties Dan Coval's Tennent Inv record; Jamestown beats Council Rock PA. Details
PA -- Wyomissing PA girls finished their third consecutive undefeated season 15-0, with the Huss twins running 1-2, Debbie 18:18 5k and Amy 18:22. Their third, Ashley Iwanowsky, ran 18:57.
SC -- Furman Inv - Joe Thorne and Laura Stanley are easy winners; Mt. Tabor NC sweeps team titles.
Mt Tabor boys 117 beat US#16 Brookwood GA and US#5 Farragut TN even with Matt Debole 8th. Another ranked team, US#3 North Mecklenburg NC, apparently had an incomplete team, finishing 4-6-20-46. Thorne's 15:15 5k takes 10 seconds off the course record of Ricky Brookshire, former Watauga NC star who is now at North Carolina State. Details
TX -- Texas A&M Inv - College Station TX
UT - State Meet - Fremont girls upset Bingham in Utah State Meet
Confirming their steady rise in the strong Utah ranks, last year's 4A state champs moved up to 5A and toppled Bingham. After Bingham's Zeigle twins claimed 1-2 (Laura 17:48 3m, Jackie 18:12) Fremont 3-6-9-14-17 shaded Bingham on runners 3 through 5 to win, 49-54. Mountain View, which dropped to 4A, won in overall scoring with 88 points over Orem 110, Fremont 114, and Bingham 131. Davis boys won the 5A race and also edged Mountain View 142-149 in overall scoring. Alta sr Kyle Perry 15:43 won 5A boys, but fastest boy of the day was Hurricane jr Tony Jones, who won 3A in 15:24. Orem jr Amber Harper was a second girl under 18 minutes, winning 4A in 17:58. Details

VA -- Glory Days Inv - Handley Winchester sr Bobby Lockhart 15:03 5k (49 second margin) broke Sharif Karie's course record at Bull Run Park, Manassas VA, in the Glory Days Invitational. Virginia web site MileStat said the course is 10-15 seconds slower than McAlpine Park, Charlotte, home of the Foot Locker South regional. Kiera Carlstrom, Good Counsel MD boys, and South #8 Robinson VA girls also win. Details
