College Choices 2001

These are the college choices
by track and field and cross country athletes
of the class of 2001

based on information received by DyeStat as of 8/23/01

1,681 choices

by College - by HomeState

Noteworthy additions this update:

Jeff Garrison CA - Southern California
Chris Stephens NJ - Neosho CC

The national letter of intent signing period for 2001 track and field seniors started April 11, 2001.  The lists below include early signings in November 2000, oral commitments by athletes themselves, and official signings since April 11.

First contact period for the class of 2002 (next year's seniors) is July 1, 2001.  Before that date, any off-campus contact between a college coach and an athlete cannot consist of more than "hello."  Also, there can be no pre-arranged face-to-face meetings before July 1 regardless of the conversation.  See NCAA rules at http://www.ncaa.org .

To add a name to these lists, send email to [email protected] giving the state of the athlete, boy or girl, the school they will attend, and your basis for the information.

Monique Henderson decides -- it's UCLA! - San Diego star, one of the most valuable prizes of the class of 2001, announced she has decided to attend UCLA, which won out over South Carolina, Southern California, and Stanford.  She said she just felt right on her campus visit and will sign with UCLA in April, having missed the November early signing period.   "UCLA lets me stay close to home," said Monique, whose 50.74 in the California State Meet last June was the fastest 400 meters ever run by a US prep female.   She also made the finals at the US Olympic Trials, earning a spot on the US Olympic Team at Sidney.
