The 2001 Great Race By the Great Bay was the first of a
new series of high school
cross country races called the Nike Great Races of America.
It is an extension of the Great American Cross Country Festival
held the past 2 years in Charlotte NC. The Great American
always provides an exciting, stimulating, motivating, environment.
The Great American series is no ordinary meet. It's fun. It's
challenge. It's balloons, bands, disc jockeys, color guards,
vivid colors, professional announcers, well choreographed
races. It's Festival!
