Crystal Springs Uplands Running Camp

Crystal Springs Uplands will be hosting it's 1st annual Cross Country Running Camp which will run for four weeks starting on July 16th and ending on August 10th. The camp will be open to runners in 6th-12th grades. The CSUS Cross-Country Running Camp is designed to prepare the middle and high school runner for the 2007 fall cross country season. The camp will include a t-shirt and daily post run snacks and beverages. The runs will vary from 2-5 miles depending on the individuals' ability and interest. We will also include short lectures and films on running topics. Occasional off campus park runs will be in addition to local roads and grass workouts. We will also take school vans to a local track for a weekly track workout. Running will be supplemented with light weights and cardio machinery in the CSUS fitness center. A variety of running activities including running games will be used to keep training fresh and fun. Albert Caruana, the CSU varsity Track coach and Dave Robertson the varsity CSUS Cross-country coach, direct the camp.
