Accomplishment: Abdalla capped an outstanding season with a CIF state Division III title and a personal record. He covered the 3.1-mile Woodward Park course in Fresno on Saturday in 15 minutes, 26 seconds. It was the first individual championship for a Willow Glen runner at the state meet. Previously, his best time was 15:29 at the Clovis Invitational. But setting records was the last thing on Abdalla's mind, Coach Victor Santamaria said. ``The strategy was more set toward winning the race rather than setting a real fast time. He went out a lot more conservatively than he did at Clovis.'' After finishing the 2005 state meet eighth behind seven seniors, Abdalla made winning this season a priority. ``It shaped his track season as well as his cross-country season,'' Santamaria said. ``He was dedicated 100 percent to winning the state meet.''
