Gunn/Paly Meet - 10/24/2000
2.20 miles @ Gunn HS
It was a warm and breezy day but that didn't stop Ruth Graham from
going after the Course Record. After a 5:33 first mile, and a 25 yard
lead over Paly's Currie, Graham had to head back into the
wind before finishing on the newly dedicated Hal Daner All Weather track.
Although her 12:31 time came up short of the 12:18 record,
(Shannon Clark of Mtn View in 1984), she
was able to break the Gunn record of 12:56 and move to #2 on the All
Time List. The Titan ladies, running without 1 of their Top 5, were
puched to the limits by a pumped up Paly team which upended the Titans
27-29 in the team title.
The Varsity Boys turned the tables on Paly and won the meet 20-37 lead
by Titan Bland in a Personal Best 11:24. The JV Boys & Girls and F/S
Boys followed the Varsity lead and also won their respective races.
