Danbury CT boys and Fayetteville-Manlius NY girls retained their #1 rankings but there was considerable shuffling below them. In the boys top 10, the biggest improvement was by Crater OR, unranked last month, who won the Firman Invitational in Idaho and the Stanford Invitational in California to rise to No. 5. Crater was one of nine newly ranked boys teams. Other big moves upward were by Neuqua Valley IL (9th to 3rd), Brookline MA (21st to 7th), and Loyola Los Angeles CA (unranked to 9th). In the girls top 10, No. 7 Mountain Brook AL rose from 21st after winning the Firman Invitational. There were six newly ranked girls teams, led by No. 13 Warwick Valley NY.
