There's a lot of new blood in The Harrier national high school cross country rankings starting the 2007 season. Half of 50 teams (15 boys and 10 girls) were unranked at the end of 2006. Top ranked Danbury CT was 19th last year. Only two boys teams return to the top 10 from the 2006 rankings -- 3. Albuquerque Academy NM (8th last year) and 5. Trabuco Hills CA (10th).
On the girls side, there is a bit more continuity, with defending Nike Team National champion Fayetteville-Manlius NY starting out 2007 ranked #1. Five girls teams return to the top 10 -- 1. Fayetteville-Manlius NY (1st last year), 2. Midlothian (10), 4. Eldorado Albuquerque NM (9), 6. Colts Neck NJ (4), and 7. Carroll Southlake TX (3).
