Josh McDougal outkicked Galen Rupp for his first NCAA title in track or XC. Remember their battling in the 2003 Foot Locker (won by Matt Withrow) or their great duel at the New Balance Indoor Games in 2004? Meanwhile, Oregon's Alex Kosinski was 13th and the top freshman Monday, concluding a super first season and far outdoing her two Foot Locker performances.

Runner-up Jenny Barringer of Colorado was super as the champ at Foot Locker South in 2003 and 2004, but has exceeded that at CU. Nicole Blood (8th) has shone brightly as an Oregon soph this fall, putting the ups and downs of high school far behind her. She had her share of disappointments, but also huge successes in winning FN NE 3 straight times (#3 is here), as well this USTAF Jr. win, and her AOC mile title, among others.

Colorado's Brent Vaughn was 5th on Monday. Remember when he came down from the mountains to the Arcadia 3200 in 2003? The super string of success for Bobby Curtis that started last spring has continued into the fall. He was 4th Monday. Remember those three scintillating NIN wins?

Ari Lambie (left, 9th) led Stanford to another title. She scared the mile record as prep senior. Bri Felnagle (11th) was part of another great mile at NON.

Lopez Lomong of Northern Arizona has made vast improvements since high school. He was third Monday and will reportedly turn pro now. Matt Withrow of Wisconsin didn't have his best day, but few will forget that 2003 Foot Locker win.
