24 US#1 performances in stellar meet
Meet director Rich Gonzalez says, "WOW!" story by Dave Devine

The meet ended with two brilliant 4x400 relays. The girls race (left) saw anchors Takecia Jameson of Eleanor Roosevelt MD and Jasmine Joseph of Poly Long Beach CA race side by side for the last 200 meters, with Jameson never yielding the lead. Roosevelt 3:40.48, Poly 3:41.17. Roosevelt ended with two firsts and three seconds in six relays. The boys race (right) saw Poly win its third relay of the meet in US#1 time of 3:14.63. Bryson Nellum anchored all three wins and also won the open 400 in 46.02.

Eleanor Roosevelt MD takes one first (4x200 in 1:38.57) and two seconds (4x800 and the 800 sprint medley).
Xavier Prep
AZ girls got things off to a great start with their US-leading 9:02.99 4x800 win over a tough Eleanor Roosevelt MD team (9:04.98).
All four sprint medley relays produced yearly list-leaders as well.
Crescenta Valley CA’s Claire Collison (5:02.3) brought her teammates home to a 4xMile title and the top time in the country with a 20:47.10.

That's the slogan of the Arcadia Invitational, the unique meet that will have its 40th running April 6 and 7 in Arcadia CA at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains.

Another Arcadia slogan is "home of national records," as 22 national records set in this meet. There have been 101 US Olympians who ran as preps at Arcadia, including four reigning world #1 athletes: Allyson Felix, Deena Kastor, Lashinda Demus and Michelle Perry.
