Highlights
- Leading through the final turn, Pennsylvania's Chanelle Price faded to 6th as the pros stormed home, but held on for US#2 all-time 2:01.61, trailing only Kim Gallagher's 1982 mark of 2:00.07.
- Utah's Luke Puskedra, well off the 2 Mile pack with Scott Wall as his assigned pacer, hit splits of 2:07, 3:13 and 4:17, and was 7:38 with a lap to go, to finish 10th in 8:46.41
- Two false starts charged to the field, and then Floridian Jeff Demps, coming out of Lane 1, led through first half before ending up third against Elites in 10.19 (-0.5)!
- Oregon 6A 800 champ Elijah Greer ran to a runner-up 1:50.31 finish in Section 3 of the morning Qualifier races, held between the distance WR attempts and the televised afternoon Elite sections
- Oregon 4A star Taylor Wallace reportedly US#2 4:28 1500 for 6th in her morning heat.
