Highlights - from Dave Devine, NW Regional Editor

Boys
  • Dominick Robinson (jr Campbell County) took the individual 4A laurels over Joshua Franke (sr Cheyenne Central), 16:28.52 to 16:41.33, but Franke fronted his Cheyenne Central team to 7-point win (73-80) over Rock Springs for the 4A title. Campbell County was third with 85 points in close scoring that saw fourth place Star Valley end up with 93.
  • The 3A individual race went to Newcastle High senior Brock Rose (17:30.59), 16-seconds clear of Luke Bromley's runner-up 17:46.43. Bromley, however, started a Lander Valley landslide, with teammates Mitch Brauneis (4th) and Kyle NoisyHawk (5th) joining him in the top five for an aggressive grab of the 3A title, dropping 39 points on Cody High's 87.
  • Sophomore Caleb Her Many Horses of Wyoming Indian High School celebrated an individual 2A title and the team win, as his 17:30.87 victory helped seal a 25-30 effort over Saratoga High (led by individual runner-up Hayden Hohnholt, 17:45.14)

Girls
  • Cheyenne Central freshman Jessica Lemaster's win in the girls 4A race led four of her teammates into the top 25 for a 26-point win over second place Campbell County. Lemaster's 19:37.36 was the fastest girls' time of the day, just edging runner-up Nicole Peterson (so Rock Springs) in 19:38.57.
  • In girls' 3A action, Brooke and Ellie Rice went 1-2 (19:45.43 and 19:59.23) to pace their Jackson Hole team to the title with a comfortable 41-81 win over Lander Valley High. Jackson Hole's 1:46.00.51 total time and 21:12.11 was second best on the day, regardless of classification, topping 4A runners-up Campbell County (1:46:51.56 - 21:22.32).
  • Freshman Shelby Hohnholt of Saratoga High prevailed in the 2A race, her 20:50.05 nearly a minute clear of second placer Brandi Bullinger of Rocky Mountain (21:43.93).
  • Wright High packed all six runners into the top 15, led by third placer Brittany Rentas, for a 25-37 victory over a game squad from Wyoming Indian School.
