Glenwood Ram Relays @ Glenwood 4/1/08Dan Roach (Harlan, 52-11 SP) and Kasey Juhl (Atlantic 166-8 DT) put up big throws.  Glenwood (138) and Atlantic (93) were the top two teams.

Kansas

Topeka Relays @ Hummer Park 4/4/08: Defending Leavenworth's girls continue to look tough, taking the team title at the Topeka relays, while Hutchinson outscored defending 5A state  champ Shawnee Heights (Topeka) on the boys side.  Fine marks abounded thoughout the meet.
Richard McCoy of Blue Valley West (Overland Park) had a nice 23-6 LJ, and also won the TJ at 44-5.5.  Brandon Childs of Emporia won the HJ at 6-6.  On the track, things also started to heat up despite the unusually cold and wet season so far in Kansas.  Derrick Perry (Topeka West) took the 800 in 2:00.9 and Jacob Davies (Emporia) the 1600 in 4:26.0.  Dylan Hedges (Lawrence) won a close 3200 in 9:56.7 from Josh Lacer (Junction City 9:57.4).
   On the girls side Laura Roxberg (Blue Valley Northwest, Overland Park) continues to dominate Kansas distance running, winning the 800 in 2:21.1 and 1600 in 5:12.5.  Michaela Reynolds (Emporia) continued her great spring with an impressive 11:12.6 3200 win.  Kahag McDougald (Junction City) won the hurdles in 15.10/ 48.16.  Sarah Buschman (Blue Valley West) took the LJ (17-9.5) and TJ (36-2.75).  Micah Wesley (Topeka High) won the SP (42-5) and JT (127-2).  Leavenworth continued to show great strength in the relays, winning a 49.09 to 49.15 thriller over Topeka High, and taking the 4 x 400 in 4:08.1, then placing second to Lawrence in the 4 x 800 (10:07.5 to 10:22.2).

Festus Tiger Town Invitational @ Festus 4/1/08:  Great girls marks abounded at the Tiger Town Invite.  Precious Selmon (Crystal City) won the 100 (12.61), 100H (15.1), 300H (45.8), and LJ (17-1). Florida-signee Alishea Usery (McCluer South-Berkeley) won the 200 (24.41) and ran on the 49.26 4 x 100 winner. Alyssa Allison of host Festus won the 800 (2:19.84), 1600 (5:08.0) and ran on a 9:46.88 4 x 800 winner.  Brittany Borman of Festus won the SP (43-8) and DT (143-1), while Michelle Lange (Laude) vaulted 11-3.  Top boys marks were Tyrell Downing (Hazelwood East) 50.92 400, and distance wins from Erich Diesel (St. Genevieve, 4:37.84) and Brett Guemmer (DeSoto 9:57.75).

Omaha Benson Invitational @ Benson HS 4/5/08:  Elkhorn's boys took the team title, while the host Benson (Omaha) girls took the girls title.  Ryan Hawley (Elkhorn) tossed the SP a meet record 53-1, and won the DT at 162-9.  Evan Walsh of Elkhorn took the HJ at 6-4 and LJ at 21-11. Omaha North's girls turned a 49.76 4 x 100, the top time in Nebraska.  Megan Pierce-Connor (Benson, Omaha) won the SP at 40-9.  Benson's Maia Reynolds won the 100 (12.46) and 200 (26.80).

Millard South Invitational @ Buell Stadium, Omaha 4/5/08:  Fremont won the boys title, and Millard West the girl's team title.  Millard North's Emily Sisson continued her hot spring with a meet record 2:14.26 800 and also anchored Millard North's meet record 9:46.40 4 x 800.  Laura Tracey (Omaha Westside 2:21.13) and Gina Mancuso (Papillion LaVista 2:22.45) ran creditable 800's behind Sisson.  LaQue Davis (Omaha Central) won the 200 (26.07) and LJ at 17-9.75.  KIanna Elahi (Millard North) won the hurdles in 15.66/ 46.52.  Tara Korshoj (Millard West) won the TJ (37-3.75) and was second in the LJ (17-4).  Strong wins also went to Kristian Trent (Millard West 132-6 DT), Eric McCoy (Bellevue West 39-10.75 SP), and Megan Oddo (Millard North 5:15.84 1600).  Omaha Westside won the 4 x 400 in 4:09.83
   Burke (Omaha) turned a quick 42.63 for a meet record in the 4 x 100.  Dale Ervin of Burke also won the 100 (11.07) and 200 (22.64).  Zac Vickers (Millard South) took the 400 in 50.10.  Jon Ronhovde (Fremont) won the 800 in 1:58.46 with Dani Dopo (Omaha Westside) second at 1:58.46. Ronhovde also ran on Fremont's 8:08.14 4 x 800 team (Omaha Westside second at 8:08.99).  Colin Morrisey of Millard South had a great distance double, winning the 1600 in 4:23.94 and then placing second in the 3200, running 9:27.86 to winner Mitch Hunt (Fremont, 9:21.18).  Josh Kage (Papillion LaVista) had the top field mark, winning the SP at 53-6 from Taylor Shapland (Millard West 52-8.5).

Kearney Invitational @ Kearney 4/4/08:  Kearney swept to the boy's and girl's team titles.  Top marks included big sprints from Josh Mead (Kearney 10.80), Nick Johnson (Omaha North 22.07) and Sol Jackson (Hays KS 50.49).  Josh Munscht (Hays KS) won the 1600 in 4:29.0.  Colin McDernott (Creighton Prep, Omaha) won the shot at 53-3, while Zach Lindley (Columbus) had a big 171-0 DT.  Nate Polacek (Kearney) PV'd 15-3.   Cierra Selllers (Omaha North) sprinted to 12.84/ 26.3 wins, and anchored North 49.84 4 x 100.  Kelli Budd (Marian, Omaha) won 5:26.0/ 11:31.0 distance races.  Columbus ran 10:07 in the 4 x 800.

East Dakota Conference Indoor @ NDSU, Fargo 4/3/08:  Fargo South swept to team titles in both the boys and girls EDC meet.  The boys were led by Adam Isakson, who turned in 14-6 PV/ 21-1.25 LJ wins. Colin Parish (Grand Forks Central), winner of the NTN Heartland open cross country race this fall, won the 800 in 1:59.89.  Keith Bennett (Grand Forks Central) went 14-0 for second in the PV.
   Laura Roesler led Fargo South, winning the 800 (2:14.31) and 400 (60.24).  Team-mate Katie Dockter won the LJ (17-7.75) and TJ (35-0).  Ellie Grooters (West Fargo) won the 60H (9.50), 200 (26.54), HJ (5-1).
