 Olathe North Invitational 9/7/06 @ Prairie Center Park, Olathe
  Olathe East (#2 6A Kansas state poll) dominated the Olathe North Invitational Wednesday, run in warm conditions over the rugged trails of Prairie Center Park.  The course features some very tough footing, and a couple of short by significant hills.  East won the team titles in all four divisions of the meet.
  East put six runners into the top eleven in the girls race, averaging 15:44 for the 4k course.  Rebeka Stowe (Olathe Northwest) and Amanda Miller (Olathe East) continued their high-level rivalry, with Miller taking the pace out very quickly and Stowe following.  With a half-mile to go, Stowe made a break up a short hill and ran to a quick 14:32 to 14:44 victory with Miller second.  Kristen Gillespie (Shawnee Mission South) was third at 15:27 with Darci Miller (Olathe East 15:34) and Kelli Russell (Olathe South 15:40) in fourth and fifth.  East scored 31 points to win, with Shawnee Mission South (#8 6A) (62) and Olathe Northwest (75) in second and third.
  Matt Horn of Olathe South broke the boys field early and cruised to a 17:01 5k triumph.  Hunter Whitemarsh (Turner, Kansas City) was second at 17:25 and Raynard Smith (Olathe East) third at 17:32.  Jon Sanell (Shawnee Mission South 17:45) and Ryan Hinderliter (Olathe East 18:06) rounded out the top five.
  Olathe East placed six runners in the top fourteen, winning the team title with 32 points, followed Shawnee Mission South (#6 6A) 55 and Olathe North with 88.
  Olathe East also won the both JV team title's, including a sweep of the top seven girl's places.
