  • Class 4A - Cedar Rapids Washington boys 60 over Iowa City West 56; Waukee girls 98 over Iowa City High 97
  • Class 3A - Central Clinton Dewitt boys 54 over Algona 51; Mt. Vernon girls 98.25 over Dubuque Wahlert 78
  • Class 2A - Fort Dodge St. Edmond boys 62 over Dike-New Hartford 46; Logan-Magnolia girls 61 over Hudson 48
  • Class 1A - Madrid boys 47.50 over West Lyon Inwood 40; North Tama girls 40 over North Iowa, Buffalo Center 38
Class 4A Highlights
  • Sioux City East girls started Friday with probably the best mark of the meet, US#1 4:00.39 1600 medley.  They also finished it with a Heartland #1 3:48.39 4x400.  Both were state records
  • Waukee's 1-point girls victory was clinched on the final event, as they finished 2nd to SCE in the 4x400 with 3:49.72.  Other big keys were victories by Collette Gnade (800), Whitney Westrum (200), and their 4x200 and shuttle hurdle relays.  Iowa City West, in 3rd, was also just 4 points back
  • Cedar Rapids Washington took the boys title with a 1:27.64 4x200 and lots of lower places
  • Gnade defended her title in a terrific 800, running 2:08.84 to Sioux City East soph Shelby Houlihan's 2:08.97, with two more under 2:12
  • Dowling Catholic jr Katie Flood had another distance double, starting with the 3k Thursday (9:55.11, over teammate Ashlie Decker 10:03.66).  Saturday, she added 1500 (4:35.13, over Shelby Houlihan 4:37.74 and Decker 4:39.96) and was also 3rd in the 800 (2:11.16)
  • Des Moines North sr Omet Kak took a 9:14.64 3200/4:14.43 1600 distance double
  • Iowa City West jr Jessica Gehrke won the LJ (18-11.25) and 100 (meet record 12.09), and was 2nd by .01 in the 200
  • Cedar Rapids Xavier sr Patrick Lewis swept the 100 (10.62) and 200 (21.43, both nwi)
  • Cedar Rapids Kennedy boys win 4A 1600 Medley in US#4 3:28.08
  • Ankeny jr Emily Roberts runs US#7 1:00.89 to win girls 4A 400H
  • Sioux City East jr Ellen Dougherty 55.41 400 over Gnade's 56.22.  Dougherty was also 3rd in the 400H (1:01.25), 4th in the 800 (2:11.40) and ran on the 4x400
  • Burlington soph Khanishah Williams 5-08.25 HJ to win 4A
  • Iowa City West jr Micaela Haight 44-06.25 SP to win 4A
  • Waukee takes 4A boys 4x800 in 7:53.88
  • Iowa City High sr Kevin Dibbern 47.77 400 to nip Ottumwa sr Alex Kelly (47.89) in 4A
  • Linn-Mar soph Kyle Dunn 52.70 boys 400H (33") in 4A to nip Clinton sr Ethan Holmes (52.71)
  • Iowa City High edges West Des Moines Valley in the girls 4x800, 9:25.65-9:26.05
  • Ames sr Nic Toben 58-04 SP

Class 3A Highlights
  • Mount Vernon's girls won decisively, with soph Alex Wilson playing a big roll with 800 (2:17.00) and 1500 (4:48.91) victories, and legs on their winning 4x400 and runner-up 4x800 relays.  They also won both medley relays and the 4x100, giving them four total.
  • Central Clinton Dewitt put a cap on their boys win with a 43.65 4x100 victory
  • Marion sr Drew Clark swept the throws, heaving the shot 64-07.75 and discus 161-01
  • Atlantic sr Jordan Mullen took both the 400H (52.82) and 110H (class record 14.09)
  • Algona's Chad Rutledge played a big part in their runner-up efforts with an 800 win (1:54.31), 2nd in 400 (49.28), and anchors on the winning 4x800 (8:01.05), and 1600 medley (3:31.15)
  • Pella sr Brooke Gritters 45-04.50, and 2nd in the discus
  • Waulon sr Brett Egan took the 1600 easily in 4:17.42 and was 2nd by 0.31 in the 3200
  • Perry jr Jessica Nichols doubled the 400 (56.51) and 200 (26.03 nwi)
  • Oelwein jr Tashina McAllister took the 400H (1:04.62) and 100 (12.55), and was 3rd in the 200, both nwi
  • Centerville sr Logan Danko swept the 100 (10.91) and 200 (21.95, both nwi)
  • Sioux Bishop Heelen Catholic set a class record in the 4x400 at 3:18.24
  • Creston sr Nicole Hunter set a class record in the 100H at 14.90 nwi
  • SB-Luton sr Megan Glisar edged Dubuque Wahlert fr Claire Till in the HJ as both cleared 5-07

Class 2A Highlights
  • Logan-Magnolia took the girls title, led by soph Alex Gochenour, who swept the 400H (class record 1:03.71), 100H (class record 14.33) and 100 (12.37 nwi), and was 2nd in the 200
  • Fort Dodge St. Edmond won by 16 points on the boys side, with a class record 3:20.32 4x4 closing the day.  They also won the 4x800 (7:57.59), and 4x200 (1:30.08), and got a 400-200 double from Brian Sandvig (48.30, 22.41 nwi), who anchored two of the relays
  • Dike-New Hartford jr Hannah Willms tripled with a US#4 5-11 HJ, class record 54.68 400, 24.78 200 win (class record 24.49 in prelims), and anchored the winning 800 SMR (class record 1:47.19)
  • Tipton sr Eric Thien took the 3200 (9:33.34) and 1600 (4:21.50)
  • Goose Lake NE jr Casey Morgan doubled the 3000 (10:32.38) and 1600 (4:48.40)
  • Goose Lake NE sr Ryan Krogman won the 800 (1:54.62), anchored the winning 1600 medley (3:32.58), and was 2nd in the 1600
  • North Polk Alleman sr Casie Christensen 2:14.81 800

Class 1A Highlights
  • Senior Sara Stoakes quadrupled, single-handedly winning the 1A meet for North Tama, with class records in the 400H (1:02.14) and 400 (56.08), and wins in the 800 (2:13.26) and 1500 (4:44.78)
  • Madrid won the boys title with a 400H win by Nick Efkamp and lots of lower places
  • Lisbon freshman Conner Smock doubled the 1600 (4:30.65) and 3200 (9:47.25)
  • Lineville-Clio sr Stephanie Nordyke took the 100 (12.33) and 200 (class record 24.99, both nwi)
  • Cardinal Eldon sr Sarah Yeager broke the class mark in the 100H (15.00, nwi)
