Day 1 Highlights: Katie Evans (Putnam County MO) tosses shot 47-7.5!!

Day One (Jan. 10) Highlights    

The inaugural Heartland Athletics Indoor Meet, held at Johnson County Community College's 200m indoor facility, saw strong field efforts highlight it's first day competition. 
 Katie Evans (Putnam County MO) tossed the SP 47-7.5, at the time the #2 toss in the United States!!  Evans won the event by over five feet. 
Brooks Mosier (Lee's Summit West MO) took the boy's competition at 53-0.5. 
Lindsay Vollmer (Penney MO) won the girl's HJ at 5-4.5. 
Cameron Taylor (Bishop Miege, Shawnee Mission KS) soared 6-7.75 to the boy's title. 
Jake Snedden (Owasso OK) soared 13-6.5 to take the boy's PV title.
Le'Tristan Pledger (Washington, Kansas City KS) won the girls LJ at 18-8.

Day Two (Jan. 11) Highlights

Le' Tristan Pledger (Washington, Kansas City KS) added the 60m Hurdle title to her long jump title from yesterday, zipping to a 9.35 title. 
Shakala Butts doubled in the girls sprints, running 8.18 for the 60m title and   27.41 for the 200   . 
Lee's Summit West MO team-mates Lyga Blyholder (5:30.52) and Chelsey Phoebus (5:30.55) went 1-2 in the 1600. 
A high quality girls 3200 saw Kyra Kilwein (Free State, Lawrence) cruise to an 11:31.81 win, with Lacey Erickson (DeSoto KS, 11:53.08) and  Johanna Kleinssaser of Lee's Summit West MO (11:59.37) also under 12:00
