While most of the major action was at Monday's Kearney Invitational, there were still some notable performances around the state during the week

Aquinas Invitational @ David City 4/2/08

Wayne (35) edged Seward (36) to win the boys team title, with Logan Williams (Chrisitan, Lincoln) cruising to an easy 17:34 5k win.  In the girls race Seward dominated with 27 point to Pierce's 52.  In a strong girls field Kelsey Christensen (Seward) ran 15:39 to win with Karrie King (Oakland-Craig, 15:43) and Natasha Mueller (Seward, 15:49) following.

Boys Town Invitational 4/2/08
Blair scored 33 to win over St. Albert (Council Bluffs IA 45), with Elkhorn a close third with 58.  Josh Harsin (Blair) ran 15:48 to edge Colby Twist (Elkhorn 15:51) in a race of state contenders.  The finished almost a minute ahead of the rest of the field.  St. Albert scored 16 to easily take the girls title, led by Abby Schlater's 14:34 win.  Samantha Soupir (Gretna, 14:36) was second.  As in the boys race, the two led the field by almost a minute.

Gothenburg Invitational 4/2/08
Host Gothenburg won the boys' team title, scoring 28 to Ogallala's 44.  Jarid Holiday of Minden won easily, running 16:47 to runner-up Andrew Collins (Gothenburg)'s 17:07.  Broken Bow took the girls title with 27 points to McCook's 36. Jessa Sughroe of McCook took the title with a 15:56 run, with her team-mate Emily Tolliver second at 16:10.

York Invitational 4/2/08
York (24) edged Skutt (Omaha 27) for the boys team title.  Kevin Cardner (Boone Central) ran 17:02 for the win with Zach Cottle of Skutt second at 17:11.  Scutt took the girls title with 30 points, with York second with 41.  Jessica Drlewer (York) took the girls win with a 15:45 run, with Jami Evans (Grand Island Northwest) second at 15:52.

Lincoln Public Schools Championship 4/3/08 @ Pioneer Park, Lincoln (5 deep scoring)
(North Star) Lincoln took the boys team title with 46 points to Lincoln Southwest's 61.  Parker Schoen of Southwest easily took the boys individual title, cruising a quick 16:26 over the Pioneer Park layout.  Trevor Vidlak (Lincoln Northeast) was second at 16:51, with Michael Weitz (Lincoln East) third at 17:09.  In an exciting girls race, Lincoln Southeast won the sixth runner tie-breaker to take the win from Lincoln East (both 42 points).  Britni Walker (Lincoln East) won the title at 15:40, with Kaitlin Weskamp (Lincoln Southwest, 15:59) second at Karen Silverstrand (North Star, Lincoln) third at 16:14.

Syracuse Invitational 4/3/08
Grant Aden (Syracuse) continued to run strong, cruising to a 16:32 win, with Brandon Weekly (Plattsmouth) second at 17:05.  Plattsmouth (31) won the team title over Syracuse (46) and Beatrice (49).  Meleia Oestmann (Auburn) won the girls title in 15:29, with Annelise Madison (Norris) second at 15:39 and Liz Johnson (Plattsmouth) third at 15:44.  Norris took the girls title with 28 points, with Plattsmouth second at 39 and Auburn (40).
