Mid-East League @ Leonardville 10/16:  Jarrod Barker (17:37 5k) and Peter Ruby (18:06) led a
Silver Lake 1-2, but Riley County's superior packing depth paid off as Riley won the boys
title 26-46 over Silver Lake.  Jo Jo Mahaffey (Riley County) won the girls title with a run
of 15:57 for 4k over Kylie Graves (Rossville, 16:21).  The Riley County ladies, ranked #1
in KS 3A polls, easily took the team title with 19 points over Rossville's 54.

MCAA League @ Wichita 10/16:  Sam Leake  (17:15) and Devin Roberts (17:42) of Sterling, both state contenders
the Class 2A crown, went 1-2 at the MCAA meet, but defending 2A state champ Sterling was
up-ended by Hillsboro 58-73 for the team title.  Sterling had three runners in the top
ten, but Hillsboro showed superior depth with six in the top twenty.  In a tight team battle
on the girls side, Smoky Valley (Lindsborg) edged Hesston for the title 62-71.  Megan Duggins
(Collegiate, Wichita) won the individual title in 16:44 for 4k, with Aimee Dreiling (Sterling)
second at 17:25.

Kinsley Invitational @ Kinsley 10/16:  With many small league schools in KS not having a league
cross county meet, the Kinsley Invitational has traditional served to bring together class
1A and 2A teams in the South and western KS region.  Colton McNinch, a Class 1A state
contender from Ness City, won the boys individual title with a time of 16:37 for 5k with
Weston Koehn (South Gray) second at 16:58.  Top ranked (1A) Ness City took the boys title
with ease with 21 points, with Meade second with 78.  In an exciting girls race featuring
1A state contenders, Kailey Gardner (Burrton, 16:05 4k) edged Kendra Pfannaenstiel (Ness City 16:06)
for the girls title.  Burrton took the team title with 34 points, with Minneola second with 91.
