BOYS
Lamar TX led the way, clocking 42.58. Only 5 teams ran the Division 2 (large schools) finals.
Judson TX posted the fastest prelim time on Saturday morning, 42.61.
Only 37 of the 88 accepted teams ran in the heats, while Angleton TX, the current US#1 at 41.12, just ran poorly and did not advance.
In 2006, Texas teams and Midwest City OK dominated the 4x100, with 13 of the year’s US top 14 times.
GIRLS
Clear Brook TX, anchored by US#6 100 returnee jr Erica Alexander, broke the tape in 48.74.
Only 3 teams competed in the Division 2 (large schools) finals.
Lancaster TX led the Saturday morning qualifying with a time of 48.53. Just 36 of the 79 entered teams ran in the heats.
No-shows included Timberview TX, the current US#1 at 46.16.
This looked to be a premier race, as the South had 6 of the 11 US schools that broke 46.50 in 2006.
