Copperas Cove jr Robert Griffin improved his US#1 to 13.55 in the 110 hurdles, then ran 35.33 in the 300 hurdles, missing the national record by an agonizingly close 0.01, and finally split 45.8 on the 4x400
Killeen sr Tiffany Townsend thrilled the crowd with an 11.21 (+0.6) 100, moving her to #8 on the all-time US performer list & followed up with #5 all-time 22.84 in the 200.

Boys

  • HUGE 35.33 in the 4A 300 hurdles for Copperas Cove jr Robert Griffin, missing the US record by an agonizingly close 0.01 !
  • Copperas Cove jr Robert Griffin improved his US#1 to 13.55 with a 110 hurdle victory in 4A
  • Texas City sr Whitney Prevost swept the 4A long jump, 100 and concluded his day with US#2 20.99 in the 200
  • Waco blazed US#2 40.84 to earn the 4x100 title in 4A relay action
  • Little Cypress-Mauriceville sr Drew Bean, the state cross country champ, clocked 9:16.59 for the 4A 3200 win and a PR
  • Dayton sr PJ McGowen soared over 6-10 in the 4A high jump, a PR
  • Pine Tree sr Clay Baker unloaded the discus a PR 189-3 in 4A
  • West jr Blaine Bassler was successful at 16-0 for 3A pole vault gold
  • Hempstead sr Terrence Toliver, the state 3A long jump winner in 2006 and US#1 returnee, dropped down to take the 2A crown in US#6 24-1.5 (+1.7)
  • Hearne sr Chris Carter, the Texas Relays long jump champ, displayed his leaping versatility with a 50-10.5w mark for 2A triple jump honors, with the +2.1 wind just over the limit

Girls
  • The crowd was buzzing when Killeen sr Tiffany Townsend got back in the blocks for the 200. And she delivered, 22.84 (+0.9), #5 all-time.
  • Killeen sr Tiffany Townsend thrilled the crowd of 16,357 with an 11.21 (+0.6) 100, moving her to #8 all-time US performer. This also broke Marshevet Hooker’s state meet record of 11.28.
  • US#2 46.14 for Lancaster to garner the 4A 4x100 relay crown
  • McKinney North sr Samantha Means ran away from the 4A 3200 field, breaking the tape in 10:45.23. Means was the state cross country champ and a Foot Locker finalist.
  • Argyle jr Kristie Krueger set a 3200 PR of 10:41.83, a new 3A state meet record
  • Hays jr Jessica Doyle cleared 12-9 for 4A pole vault gold, a new PR and =US#9
  • Yoe sr Charlissa Foster, the US#3 discus thrower at 160-0, had a best of 154-9 to win 3A by 20 feet
