SO#1/US#7 The Woodlands TX
SO#3/US#24 Southlake Carroll TX
SO#6 Seven Lakes TX
SO#7 Kingwood TX
SO#8 Cinco Ranch TX

At the Texas A&M Invite, The Woodlands, led by bronze medalist jr Reed Connor in 15:40, dominated the team competition with 52 points, 7 in the top 23, and averaged 16:09. Georgetown, a South bubble team, made a statement with 91 points for 2nd. Southlake Carroll, riding the 1-2 from its super duo of sr Colby Lowe and jr C.J. Brown, took the bronze with an even 100, followed by Kingwood with 109, Seven Lakes with 125, and Cinco Ranch with 167 for 6th.

The Woodlands coach Dan Green said, “We had a good solid race, with probably only one guy really outstanding (Michael Golden #2 today, who was actually a replacement for an ill runner). While the win was great, in the giant scheme of things it really has no bearing on the season. We still have to stay with our plan and take care of the little things. We have some great challenges ahead and we have no time to waste.”

Georgetown coach Doug Hunt said, “We talked about getting out as a group, faster that 1st mile, and they did that today. They showed some guts during the middle of the race, and had a strong finish.”

Next: The Woodlands is at Aldine, Southlake Carroll is at the Islander Splash in Corpus Christi, and Seven Lakes is off. Kingwood and Cinco Ranch will meet again at the Brenham Invite. Georgetown is going to the Lubbock Invite.
