Saturday Highlights
- Track EC/New Bern NC put together two more fast relay performances. First came a US#2 1:25.20 4x200, placing 3rd overall in a field of collegiate and open teams. Splits were Fuquawn Greene 20.8, Miles Sparks 21.6, Anthony Hendrix 21.4, Andrew Hendrix 21.4. Then at the end of the meet, in a downpour, they placed 9th in a very strong 4x400 field with US#1 3:12.82. Splits were Anthony Hendrix 47.6, Greene 48.4, Sparks 49.5, Andrew Hendrix 47.4.
Friday Highlights
- With splits like they've never run before, Track EC/New Bern NC got the 1600 sprint medley record outdoors which had eluded them indoors. It was Fuquawn Greene 21.4, Miles Sparks 21.8, Andrew Hendrix 46.6, Anthony Hendrix 1:49.8. They finished 2nd in an overall field of 20 collegiate teams to St. Augustine's 3:19.49. The previous co-record holders, according to Jack Shepard's High School Track, were Berkeley CA 3:21.1h (1981) and Hawthorne CA 3:21.15 (1985)
- A fine boys 3200 saw Chapel Hill sr Taylor Gilland hit 9:11.60 to turn back Foot Locker 3rd-place finisher and Mountain View VA sr Thomas Porter's 9:14.94
