Highlights
  • Chapel Hill NC sr Taylor Gilland cranked out the best time of the day for the boys, running 15:23 in the Invitational race, 24 seconds up on Fort Mill SC freshman Mark Blackmon.  Olympic NC sr Steve Bollinger and Cary jr Mohamed Abushouk had the 2nd and 3rd best clockings overall with 15:39 and 15:43 in the Open race.
  • North Mecklenburg sr Kim Spano notched the day's best clocking with her 17:48 in the Open race, winning by 45 seconds.  A close battle in the Invitational division saw East Chapel Hill NC jr Carolyn Baskir nip JL Mann SC sr Kate Borowicz, 18:02-18:04.
  • In the boys team race, SE#4 Oakton VA (92) edged Trinity KY (104) and SE#7 Chapel Hill NC (111).  The VA power won the first four spots vs. Trinity and 2-3-4 vs. Chapel Hill.  Mooresville NC and NW Guliford NC easily won the 3A and Open divisions
  • Myers Park NC nipped TC Roberson VA in the girls invite race, 169-171, with Oakton VA third with 191.  Myers Park came from behind on the strength of their fifth girl.  Lake Norman edged Sun Valley for the girls 3A title, while NW Guliford's girls made it an Open div. sweep for the school.
