Alleman tops Vena again; great Smith triple

Grp 4 Highlights
- Southern Regional jr Jillian Smith had reported splits of 4:50/ 2:15/2:17 as her team won the DMR (12:29.11), and sprint medley (4:12.87) and was 3rd in the 4x8,
- Lenape sr Lindsey Walsh took the HJ with 5-6 and her team tied the meet record
- Toms River North sr Maureen Laffen claimed the shot with 42-05.75
- Lenape scored in the top 5 in every event and won easily, 54-31, over Southern Regional
- Trenton Central, with standout Devon Hill, took down the 4x200 meet record with a 1:32.47, and blasted a 30.28 shuttle hurdle relay, just missing the standard by .01. They also won the 4x400 and the meet with 32 points
- Union sr Afolabi Omole won the high jump at 6-6.
Grp 3 Highlights
- In the much-anticipated rematch of Jersey's senior veteran and freshman sensation shot putters, Scotch Plains-Fanwell sr Mike Alleman stayed on top with a 59-04.25, as Morristown's Nike Vena threw 56-06, his improvement curve finally coming to a temporarily halt. It was the first meeting between the two since Vena joined the 61-foot club with his US freshman record. Morristown did get the relay win in that event, however.
- In the Grp 3 4x400, Camden just missed the meet record with a 3:27.53-3:28.01 win over Winslow Township.
- Foot Locker Finalist Brian Leung anchored West Windsor-Plainsboro South's 10:42.90 Grp 3 DMR winner. Another foursome took down the meet 4x800 record with an 8:12.60
- Winslow Twp, however, won the 4x200 and took the team title, 32-24 over Camden
- Brick Township sr DeAnne Hahn (45-08) and jr Lisa Stuto (40-10.75) went 1-2 and destroyed the meet relay record
- Camden used 4x2 and 4x4 wins to counter Roxbury's 4x8 and DMR triumphs and won the girls team title, 27-26.
Grp 2 Highlights
- Morris Hills took the DMR, SMR, and 4x800 to score 35 and win the boys title
- West Deptford sr Daniel Batdorf soared over 15-00 to win the PV, just missing the meet record
- Melanie Thompson and Voorhees lowed the DMR and 4x800 meet standards to 12:34.64 and 9:46.63 with their wins
- Hopewell Valley's 33.10 shuttle hurdle relay was just .03 off the MR; they also won the 4x200 and SMR
- Hopewell Valley got yet another win from Emily Kianka in the HJ at 5-6 and rolled to the team title with 59.
- West Morris Mendham's Sarah Bella hurled the shot 43-07.25 for the triumph
Grp 1 Highlights
- Madison won the DMR and scored in several other events to win the girls title with 43
- For the boys, Pleasantville had the most wins, but Metuchen's depth was better and they won, 52-50
Non-Public Highlights
- Christian Brothers scored four firsts and won by 20 on the boys side with 59 points
- Pope John XXIII took the girls title with 50 points
