DyeStat XC Region Review NY Boys
Summary of New York Top Ten, Week Ending Oct. 13, 2007
By Tom Cuffe, Dyestat NY Boys Regional Editor THE MANHATTAN COLLGE MEET GREAT RACING!!! BOTH INDIVIDUAL & TEAM BUT ARCAIC SCORING METHODS STILL PREVAIL THIS WEEK IN NEW YORK
A quick summary. Seven of the top ten NY NTN ranked teams race in the Bronx at Van Cortlandt Park = #1 Queensbury, #2 Shenendehowa, #3 Shaker, #4 Warwick Valley, #6 Smithtown, #8 Ithaca and #9 Cornwall. #3 Kellenberg Memorial went down south and had a wonderful race in Hoover, Alabama. #7 Arlington and #10 Thomas Webster did not race this weekend. As a painful observation: getting the results – the actual results, not the performances – from the Manhattan College Meet is to say the least a disappointing and frustrating experience.
Here is a merge of the top teams in the Manhattan Meet:

The Plainsmen had a wicked good 24 second compression! That and the fact that 1:52 & 4:15 man Zac Suriano did not compete in this meet, as he is still side lined, but is scheduled to return. Coach Mark Thomson is bringing his All-American harrier along slowly. Stay tuned boys & girls we are in for quite a show when he returns.

#4. Kellenberg Memorial
Take third at Great American. Nice race for Buckley’s harriers out of the CHSAA of Greater NY. St. Anthony’s from Long Island takes a very respectable 11th in a very strong field. He trip south was well worth it for these fine New Yawkers.

# 5. Warwick Valley
# 9. Cornwall
Warwick Valley second in their race to NE Honorable mention Don Bosco, NJ which ran an excellent team race paced by Rob Molke who placed third with a fine 12:40.98. Lions, tigers and bears – oh my!!! I’d expound more on all the teams and what not but the Manhattan College experience has me exhausted and frustrated to say the least. Cornwall fifth to a resurgent Guilderland.

Fourth in their race. Are definitely a better team than this as their #1 man had his shoe come off in the first 100 yards and had to DNF.
